Cold rolled coil known as ‘white steel’ is a type of steel product manufactured from the cold rolling process. These ‘white steels’ have significantly different types of characteristic compared to the ‘black steels’ or hot rolled coils. Cold rolled coils have better surface quality, thinner and with more precise size, and also have good mechanical property and excellent formability.

Corrugated Galvanised Iron (colloquially corrugated iron or pailing (in Caribbean English), commonly abbreviated CGI) is a building material composed of sheets of hot-dip galvanised mild steel, cold-rolled to produce a linear corrugated pattern in them. The corrugations increase the bending strength of the sheet in the direction perpendicular to the corrugations, but not parallel to them. Normally each sheet is manufactured longer in its strong direction.
CGI is lightweight and easily transported. It was and still is widely used especially in rural and military buildings such as sheds and water tanks.

Hot rolled in the form of coil and plate is a type of steel product produced from hot rolling process. Plants and users of this type of steel normally call this product ‘black steel’ to differentiate it from the cold rolled commonly known as ‘white steel’. Hot rolled products are obtained via continuous casting process of rectangular shaped slabs, which are then hot rolled into various thickness ranges. They are offered either as coils or are provided in the form of sheet plates that are custom sized. Hot Rolled Coil and Sheet can fulfill wide range of market requirements like forming, bending, deep drawing, laser cutting and welding. High carbon grades are especially suited to meet challenging wear and fatigue performance.

The temperature at which hot-rolling is completed results in an oxidized strip surface. This oxide film is termed hot-mill scale. Pickling removes the hot-mill scale. Pickled strip is generally supplied oiled to preserve this surface finish.

Skin passing is a light cold rolling operation which suppresses the appearance of stretcher strain and minimizes coil break during uncoiling and subsequent processing. The surface texture and flatness are improved by skin passing.
